Linit Tough tempered HST - Linit UK

Linit Tough HST is thermically tempered heat soak tested (HST) u-channel glass.  This process is offered for all Linit u-channel glass textures in lengths up to 7 metres.  Tempered glass can also be sandblasted and painted.  Linit Colour enamelled glass is tempered during the enamelling process.  Thermically toughened Linit Tough HST meets the requirements laid down for cast glass in EN 14179-1 for tempered safety glass with regard to fracture behaviour.  In addition, in accordance with EN 14719-1 for cast glass, Linit Tough HST has significantly increased thermal shock resistance of 150K compared to non-tempered glass so that in standard cases there is no risk of fracture due to increased thermic stresses.

In order to minimise the risk of fracture from nickel sulphite inclusions, which can cause spontaneous breakages in fully tempered glass, Linit Tough is heat soak tested in Lamberts heat soak furnace which was designed to specifically test u-channel glass and is subjected to regular independent inspection and testing.
